GRANT PROJECT: ”Heritage garden - KNow Your roots”

The MDNHA funded a one-year grant for $10,000, which provided improvements to the Heritage Demonstration Garden, in which plantings typical of a 19th century kitchen garden are grown. Support also extended to the Know Your Roots educational programs which extend to training the trainers, a Vicksburg National Military Park tour guide certification; training the Vicksburg hospitality industry, multiple youth workshops, a community awareness event and adult workshops such as the short course, Know Your Roots Grow Your Business held on June 13, 2017.
