This virtual resource center is created to connect community members and those interested in the Delta with important resources for preserving and enriching culture. We recognize the Delta as an archive--a living breathing culmination of culture shaped by centuries of complex, painful, and tangled histories. The Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area aims to support the preservation and continued creation of this lived archive through our virtual resource center. The functions of this site include, but are not limited to heritage area resources, economic data, directory of organizations, directory of experts, relevant stories, training sessions, legal information, technical information, designation and awards, funding resources, and collections care. We also understand that community members have additional knowledge, resources, and wisdom to offer, therefore the resource center has user-generated functions such as the ability to post, comment, and interact with others within the virtual resource center.
